Vector Marketing Corporation, the company that markets Cutco Cutlery, held their annual Cutco Sales Professional (CSP) retreat in New Orleans this year. The more than 100 sales representatives and employees took a day to volunteer with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity in the 9th Ward. Activities included roofing, siding, exterior painting and yard work.
Additionally, in the weeks leading up to the retreat, the CSPs collected donations from their Cutco customers to donate to New Orleans Area Habitat through the use of a Bubble Bank, a fun and creative way to save money and collect donations. These funds contributed to a total company donation of almost $10,000.
"This is the first year that we incorporated community service into our annual CSP retreat. The response from our representatives was overwhelmingly positive and fits with the company’s philosophy that in order to be successful, you must first help others to reach success," says John E. Whelpley, President and COO for Vector Marketing Corporation. According to John Kane, Director of Sales Development for Vector who was also in New Orleans to participate in the build, the CSPs are looking forward to additional opportunities for community service projects in the future.
The CSP title is reserved for those representatives who have made a career out of selling Cutco Cutlery. To be considered for the position, which is reevaluated each year, a representative must have a minimum of $100,000 in career sales and maintain a minimum of $60,000 in sales each year.
Vector Marketing Corporation, a subsidiary of Cutco Corporation headquartered in Olean, NY, is the exclusive marketer of CUTCO Cutlery and accessories, which are sold directly to consumers via in-home demonstrations. The company has an extensive leadership training and life skills development program in place to encourage its reps to not only succeed with sales of its products but to equip them with the tools and lessons necessary to succeed in life.
