PSE Pro-Am
In 2000, Vector Marketing joined forces with Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) in its efforts to develop the selling skills of college students by sponsoring PSE’s Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon. Vector Marketing’s sponsorship includes funding for the program, as well as providing Cutco products that are used in regional competitions.
The Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon is an annual competition held by PSE at its six fall regional conferences and its annual National Sales and Marketing Convention.
Kodak Pictures and Huthwaite, Inc. joined Vector Marketing in 2007 as co-sponsors of the program.
Purposes of the PRO-AM:
To provide PSE collegiate members with the opportunity to experience the salesperson’s role in a simulated business-to-business (B2B) sales environment, with coaching from a sales professional.
Participant Learning Objectives:
- Appreciate the role of the sales professional.
- Understand a small vs. large (B2B) sales call.
- Recognize the buying roles of the customer.
- Grasp the four stages of the sales call.
- Comprehend the SPIN questioning strategy.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform in a competitive environment.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally.
- Assess performance strengths and areas to improve.

DECA
Vector Marketing’s partnership with DECA, initiated in 2006, is part of a corporate vision to help prepare students for the world of work through helping them build “Skills for Life.” By working with DECA, our managers contribute their expertise as a community service, serving as guest speakers, mentors and judges. More than 180,000 high school students are members of High School DECA with over 5,000 chapters operating in the United States, Canada, Germany and Puerto Rico.
DECA’s high school programs prepare future leaders in the career clusters of business administration and management; entrepreneurship; finance; marketing, sales and service; and hospitality and tourism.
American Marketing Association
Vector Marketing’s partnership with the American Marketing Association (AMA), initiated in 2002, is part of the corporate “Skills for Life” vision. Vector Marketing is one of five AMA national collegiate sponsors. It is part of Vector Marketing’s corporate mission to help prepare students for the professional world and the AMA is committed to preparing students for the marketing industry.
AMA, one of the largest professional associations for marketers, has 38,000 members worldwide in every area of marketing. The AMA is the leading source for information, knowledge sharing and development in the marketing professional. Through its local chapters, AMA offers professional development and networking opportunities to its members.
Pi Sigma Epsilon
Vector Marketing’s partnership with PSE, initiated in 1992, incorporates the company’s corporate vision to encourage those who excel academically and professionally to push themselves to accomplish unexpected results. Vector Marketing is the sponsor of the Pro-AM Sell-A-Thon held annually at the six fall regional conferences and PSE’s annual national conference. The Pro-AM is a sales competition that provides PSE collegiate members with the opportunity to experience the salesperson’s role in a simulated business-to-business sales environment, with coaching from sales professionals. There are more than 50 PSE chapters on college campuses across the country.
PSE is the only national professional fraternity in marketing, sales, management and selling. Members consist of collegians, alumni, educators, professionals and associates who are connected in some way to the marketing and sales profession.
Academy of Mareting Sciences
The Academy of Marketing Science, devoted exclusively to the Marketing professorate, is on the forefront of the Marketing discipline and provides outstanding value to its members. The Academy’s academic Journal, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS), was founded in 1972 by Dr. Harold W. Berkman and is published on a quarterly basis by Sage Publications. JAMS is a refereed publication with all manuscripts being blind reviewed by members of the JAMS Board of Reviewers. Occasionally, a Special Issue is published, devoted to articles on a theme of major significance.

The Direct Selling Association (DSA) is the national trade association of the leading firms that manufacture and distribute goods and services sold directly to consumers. More than 200 companies are members of the association.

The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), founded in 1956, is the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated. The professional association connects more than 5,200 college career services professionals at nearly 2,000 colleges and universities nationwide, and more than 3,000 HR/staffing professionals focused on college relations and recruiting.
Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers
The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE), founded in 1946 as the University Advisory Services, is a national non-profit partnership of employer recruiters and career service professionals. It’s purpose is to help career service professionals and employers have access to strong professional networks and professional development opportunities.
Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers
The Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE) is the largest regional college/employer network with approximately 1200 members representing 817 colleges, 258 employers, and 27 associates from Maine to Virginia.
Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers
The Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE) was founded in 2005 when the Western Association of Colleges & Employers (WACE) and the Rocky Mountain Association of Colleges & Employers (RMACE) merged to form one association on the 50th anniversary of both organizations. MPACE brings together college professionals and employers interested in the college educated for networking opportunities on a regional level.

The Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers (MWACE), founded in 1949, brings together professionals in collegiate career services and recruitment/staffing on a regional level to collaborate, communicate, and connect.
Southeastern Association of Colleges and Employers
The Southeastern Association of Colleges and Employers (SACE), founded in 1946, is an organization of human resources, college relations and career service professionals.
Southwestern Association of Colleges and Employers
The Southwestern Association of Colleges and Employers (SWACE) provides a link between higher education and the employers of college graduates and brings together the career services centers of the colleges in the southwestern region with the employers who recruit from schools in this territory.
Children’s Wish
Vector Marketing Canada has raised over $160,000 for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada since 2005. In 2010, it is expected that an additional $20,000 will be raised to help grant the wishes of seriously ill children. Vector is proud of its relationship with the Children’s Wish Foundation and looks forward to sustaining a long-term commitment to this important cause.
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the authority on wish granting in Canada. With two decades of wish granting, and over 12,000 wishes behind it, the Foundation has fulfilled more wishes for children in Canada than any other wish granting agency.
Go Red for Women
Between March 1, 2011 and February 28, 2012, CUTCO will donate $75,000 to the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Movement, plus an additional donation of 10% of the purchase price of every 4-Pc.
