Organizing House Concerts for Global Health Charity: Vector Marketing Sales Rep Lindsay Musser

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - In order to raise money for a global health charity, Vector Marketing Sales Professional Lindsay Musser had to think outside the arena. Instead of hosting concerts at large venues with high booking fees, she's opened up her own home and those of her friends for fundraising performances. House concerts, as they are known, are becoming increasingly popular because of the intimacy of the setting. Anywhere from 30 to 100 people cram into a living room for the evening: "It's like almost every single person gets a front row seat at a concert!" said Musser.

Best of all, more of the proceeds from Musser's house concerts can go directly to the Boston, Massachusetts-based nonprofit Partners in Health. The charitable organization began in 1987 to deliver healthcare to the poor in Haiti, and has since expanded its mission to other impoverished areas of the world for charity service. For example, members of Partners in Health are working to fight Ebola in areas such as Liberia and Sierra Leone.

"Partners in Health wants to push beyond simple charity and create better infrastructure, so that the poorest of the poor can enjoy good health like the rest of the world," said Musser.

Performers at Musser's house music concerts have included Oscar Albis Rodriguez, guitarist for the Grammy Award-winning duo A Great Big World, and New Jersey-based singer-songwriter Carly Brand, among others. Musser said that in addition to raising money for PIH, the concerts are a great way to share the organization's vision and philanthropic goals with young people. Musser herself is a dedicated philanthropist. She has previously worked with the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based charity and human service organization Angel Wings International, which does charitable service through healthcare work in Haiti. Musser is the owner of the photography business Encompass Photography and a Hall of Fame Cutco Sales Professional (CSP). At Vector Marketing, she specializes in business gifts in the Northeast Region.

While organizing a concert in your own living room can be a bit of a logistical challenge, each time the end result is worth the effort, Musser said.

"The moment I have all those people in the same room, united for one cause, all the little challenges I have to overcome fade away from memory," she said.
