Who knew a girl could get so excited about a knife?

Standard

Sky opening up intro music plays loudly here.

My newest Cutco knife arrived yesterday. It’s a lovely 7″ pearl handle Santoku knife that according to the maker can be used to chop, slice and dice meats and vegetables, slice sushi or butterfly chicken breasts. I don’t now about all of that but I plan on using it for cutting just about everything in site when I’m making dairy meals.

After taking one look at this sizable knife, my hubbie expressed his concern that I might get angry and use it on him sometime. I assured him that I’d never use my milkhik (milk) knife on his fleishik (meat) self!

This is my 5th Cutco knife. The first 2 I received as a wedding gift, which only began the addiction to these awesome knives. I now I have 3 for meat meals and 2 for dairy. I love them all and am happy to welcome this newest addition into my family.

Thank you Cutco for making these wonderful knives but hey, if you’d possibly consider lowering the price just a bit or offering a buy 1 get 1 free sale sometime soon, they would be greatly appreciated.

What about you? Do you own a Cutco knife or two? Share your info and your love for these gems.

Happy Kosher Treif Cooking!

  1. I’m a CUTCO consultant and I can tell you that we are usually able to offer deals when you buy more than one item at a time. Sometimes they’re grouped bundles, but you can usually get a buy 4 get 1 free deal. Talk to your consultant about which items (there is also really good cookware fyi) you want and she can tell you the cheapest way to do it.

  2. Thanks for the information Ariel. I just order directly from CutCo and I know they have the buy 3 get 1 free deal but I just normally don’t have the extra cash to buy 3 CutCo items at a time. I didn’t know they had cookware though … I’m going to have to check that out!

    • You can get your knives sharpened for free in-home as often as you like (I recommend every 2-3 years at least). If you ever take advantage of that, the consultant who takes care of your knives can give you a better grasp of your options. The personalized care is something we take pride in and because we’re paid regardless of sales, we are able to focus on your needs instead of getting you to spend more money.

  3. Ariel do you know about sending in knives to be sharpened from my Kosher kitchen
would that make them not kosher since you sharpen non kosher knives too?

    • I learned a hard way those knifes can NOT be used in kosher kitchen after the sharpening process because they use the SAME wheel for all knifes. What a sad discovery………

  5. I have never sent my knives in to be sharpened (they badly need it) but I know several people in my community who keep Kosher and do send their knives in for sharpening. I’ll ask them about it when I see one of them again and let you know how they handle it.

  6. As a Veteran utci store manager I can gladly inform you that we now offer a buy get the 4th free special on our knives in the store 🙂
